Extra Credit Blog

The lab that we did in science class, was very similar to N.J. For example, we had to put trash, auto oil, and animal waste on the diorama. Then, we had to pure water on the diorama and watch the trash, auto oil, and animal waste wash down, to the edge of the container. Also, be sides the rain washing trash into the ocean, people throw trash on the beach and the high tide pulls the trash into the ocean. Next, another way is when trash gets thrown into creeks, then creeks lead to rivers and rivers lead to oceans, it pollutes the world and the ocean too. And finally, before you know it, the earth will be polluted and no one can fix it.

october sky

In this movie, there was a little town, with a coal mine. Most of the people in the town, worked on the coal mine all day long. The coal mine was the heart of the town or in other words the town was owned by it. Also, every store, restaurant, and all the houses were owned by the coal mine. But there was a person who wanted more than to just work on the coal mine, and his name was Homer. Homer wanted to build rocket ships for a living. Then, Homer knew he couldn't do this alone, so he asked the most unpopular kid at school, and he would have to do it at his own risk of being called a looser. But, Homer didn't care, he just blocked it out and they made a rocket that worked with a little help from Homer's older brothers. And finally, in the end the rocket flies and Homer learns that you can't judge a book by its cover.

Breast Cancer Response

I didn't even know that breast cancer was discovered in the 1600's. I have some questions for you, that i would like you to answer for me. My first question is, could you get breast cancer from just laying down on the coach or simply eating the wrong foods? This brings me to my next question, how do you feel about breast cancer? Also my last question is, do you know how many people in the U.S, support or help to raise money for a cure for this disease? Your breast cancer blog sounded good and it had lots of awesome facts. In other words, I liked it and it was interesting too. By any chance would you ever help find a cure for breast cancer? And finally, I am glad I read your blog because now I learned something I didn't know and I learned something new.

Duchene Muscular Dystrophy

The genetic disorder that I have researched was Duchene Muscular Dystrophy. Duchene Muscular Dystrophy is a disease that have many symptoms. Such as, you may go through an awkward manner of walking, sleeping, or running. I would really hate to have a disease like this one because it is very fatal and disheartening to have.  There is no cure for this disease, but the doctors have a special therapy for it. Also, it was discovered by Guillaume Benjamin Amand Duchene, in 1861. You may witness this disease from late teens to mid 30's, but some people have it for a longer period of time. The disease affects one in 3,500 males in the world. Most of the time, males get Duchene Muscular Dystrophy and females can be the faithful carriers. Scientists believe that this disease is caused by a mutation in the (gene DMD), located in humans on the X-chromosom. To find a new treatment for Duchene Muscular Dystrophy, all you have to do is to check if you have it or anyone in your family had it but the process of finding a cure is annoying because you have to go through tests and other procedures. If I had a chance to help find a cure for this disease, I would be down to the lab so fast before you could even say "go." And finally, if you want to make a different on society, you should see if you can help out or test some cures for this disease.

penguin

PENGUINS ARE IN DANGER because Global Warming. Global Warming is making life for the penguins horrible, penguins need snow and a cold area. People are the cause for the most of the problems in the earth. Also, if all the snow melts in Antarctica, the ocean will increase in water, then it will stop penguin reproduction. Next, the briny plant pumps out the ocean, and if that doesn't happen, the penguin's food sources will be gone. And, if the penguins don't have food, they will die or move on. Finally, this is why we should take care of the earth, not destroy it.

politics

There are a lot of politics in the world today. For example, an incident came up, soldiers went to Iraq for a one year period, and their only rule the soldiers have to do is remember what side their on. Also, a helicopter pilot said that "it's my job to serve." Then, he began to compare other pilots and himself, to the firefighters and police in a town. And the pilot stated that "well we go down their, do the job, and come home safely." So if you really think about it, there's many different politics in the world, and everyone should do something about those politics. Finally, this article was very fun to read.

SNØW

Well it just snowed in New Jersey yesterday, and i bet you every kid was outside too. Also, snow is made when snow is formed in the air and the cloud. Then, the ice crystals stick together to form snow. Snow can only be formed in when the temperature is below freezing. If the air gets warmer as the snow flake reaches the ground, it will turn to rain. If it doesn't get warmer, the snow flake will make it safely to the ground. Now, next time if your outside on a snow day, you will know how it got there.

WAVES

In my science class, we learned about waves. For example, we used a slinky to show a wave movement and a spring to sort of see the measurement of the wave. Also, it was a lot of fun and very interesting. Then, we got to go out into the hallway, so we could experiment with the slinky better. While we were out there we almost hit the ceiling. This lab was the most fun of all the other ones. Therefore, I hope we have more labs like this one in the future.

TECHNOLOGY

Everyone uses technology these days. They even have technology that does basiclly everything you want. For example, the iphone has wi-fi internet, media player, and you can fit it in your pocket. Also, it has 3G memory, so that means you can download 3,000 songs or hold a lot of items on it. So in other words, the iphone does mostly what you want and I know you will like it. Therefore, if you want sometihng that does what you want and fits in your pocket, you should get a IPHONE.
